Commonwealth 5000 metres champion Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku has decided to move from track to track in a music video that I will only say is …..interesting.
Ndiku made a clean break in his career after clinching four gold medals in major championships in 2014. We now see him in a whole different light featuring in hip-hop video: Run Caleb Ndiku by artist Machakos Kyalo.
The video features the champion showcasing a little of flamboyance by splashing out money and parading his trophies, and cuts between his track perfomances as well as a collection of international interviews .
The 23-year-old is expected to participate in this years’ Rio Olympics, where he will face off with Britain’s Mo Farah in the 5000 metres race.
Thoughts? All I can say is I dont know how baller it is to throw around what looks like not more than 10 thousand bob on a dirt road. On the plus side, it’s about time our artistes celebrate our real heroes.
